Remix OS, the Android-based operating system that looked and functioned like a desktop client, is being discontinued.

Jide the company behind the popular Remix OS, a multi-windowed version of Android designed to run on PC has launched Remix OS Player for Windows. Marketed as the fastest and most optimized Android emulator on the market, the marshmallow based program will run most Android apps direct on your Windows device.

Jide the Company behind Remix OS, has released the eagerly awaited Android 6.0 update for Remix OS for PC. The update has seen many features added based on feedback direct from the community including the official Remix OS forums here at XDA. As always the latest Remix OS download can be found over at jide.com and can be installed on most intel based hardware.

At CES Asia in Shanghai, China today, Jide the company behind the ever-popular Remix OS has announced a partnership with AOC, in order to develop and produce a 24" all-in-one (AIO) PC. Jide are best known for their version of Android that brings the multi-tasking capability and familiarity of a desktop OS to the Android platform we all know and love. Having previously launched an ultra tablet and mini PC running their OS, this latest device aims to bring Android to enterprise as well as home users.

It was not long ago that we discussed both Android tablets and the Pixel C, where we explored the shifts in hardware and software that the big-screen Android devices have been going through in accordance to the tablet market as a whole.

Remix OS the Android build rapidly gaining popularity for its implementation of multi-window and the ability to be installed and most PCs has left alpha and entered beta just six weeks after launch. The beta will be available to download from March 1st and brings some major changes.
