Update 1 (6/24/19 @ 9:40 AM ET): Huawei's EMUI 9.1 update timeline for the first 19 devices on the list has been announced.

EMUI 9.1 is the latest update to Huawei's OS based on Android Pie. While Huawei has not disclosed a clear changelog between EMUI 9.1 and EMUI 9, the new update brings features like improvements to the GPU Turbo mode, incoming call videos for contacts, optimizations for HiVoice, triggering voice assistants through a long press on the power button, improvements to PC continuity and more changes varying on a per device model basis.

EMUI 9.1 was launched with the Huawei P30 Pro, and the update has begun rolling out to the Huawei Mate 20 Pro and Huawei Mate 20 X. Now, through a Weibo post, Huawei has listed out 49 devices which are expected to receive this update.

Huawei has not mentioned a release timeline, but we expect the update to reach all devices in the coming weeks.

Note: Huawei/Honor have stopped providing official bootloader unlock codes for its devices. Therefore, the bootloaders of their devices cannot be unlocked, which means that users cannot root or install custom ROMs.

Huawei's EMUI 9.1 update timeline for the first 19 devices on the list has been announced. This information is still not official, and with Huawei's current situation, there's always the possibility that this timeline will change. If the plans are correct, we should see the rollout start later this week with the Huawei Mate 20 series.
